The Reserve Bank of New Zealand decided to update the look and quality of its banknotes, as a part of prevention of counterfeiting and to keep up with technology evolution. Updating will relate $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 notes, but there won´t be done any change to its coins. The earliest time of issuing notes will be year 2014. A new £100 note will be issued in Jersey to mark Her Majesty the Queen´s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. The note will feature the holographic portrait of the Queen which was commissioned by Jersey Heritage Trust on behalf of the States of Jersey. Treasury and Resources Minister will need to ask the States to amend existing 1959 law which limits the maximum denomination of any currency note to £50. Read more ...

After 25 years of using the same currency series, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas announced a total 702 million copies of the Philippine New Generation Currency has been already produced. We can look forward for new design, which pays honour to Filipinos who played significant roles at various moments of its history. The phassing out of present banknotes will be completed by 2012 - 2013, which will has after this date no value at all. We have to wait for coin redesigning as this is still in process. Brunei new polymer banknotes Brunei put into circulation new $1, $5 and $10 polymer banknotes, issued by the Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam to mark the 64th birthday of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The issuance of the new polymer notes introduces eight new and advanced security features to combat counterfeits. New Danish Biometric Passport will be issued in Denmark from New Year 2012. From that year, passports must contain digital photos, fingerprints and signatures.
