The big issue at annual Biometrics Institute Australia conference in Sydney were banking cards and e-Passports which are at risk from wireless skimming devices. It was mentioned how easy it was to procure proximity card skimmers on eBay and to use them to get unencrypted data from someone´s card while on public transport, for example.
